There has been lots of criticism towards the mainstream media relating to downplaying the significance of the climate issue and the so called Impartiality policies. They end up disproportionately supporting non-scientific ideas that are astonishingly being put on the same level as science backed facts about the importance of tackling climate change.
Thankfully the democratization of media reached the radio medium in the form of podcasts. Here are 4 top eco podcasts that will encourage you to act and inform you in down to Earth, even entertaining manner, which are of course the smeaky ways of talking about serious things.

Produced by: Bloomberg
Hosted by: Akshat Rathi
Tagline: Explores the policies, tactics and clean technologies taking us to a future of zero emissions as the world fights climate change.
Smeaky Review: Award-winning climate reporter Akshat Rathi talks to the people who have made it their living fighting climate change using storytelling, science, policies and numerous other tactics.
Each episode leaves me encouraged that all is not lost and inspired to emulate or invest in the actions recommended by the guests on the show.
2. Degrees

Produced by: Environmental Defence Fund
Hosted by: Daniel Hill
Tagline: Real talk about planet-saving careers.
Smeaky Review: A fantastically down to earth host who speaks with intelligence and simplicity to those of us who dream of making a living from bettering the future of our planet. Daniel and his guests give specific connections and advice on how to approach this as a career change or even better on how to green your current job.
The only downside is that it’s mostly US centred. But it’s still quite encouraging to hear about the growth in this new sector.
3. Drilled

Produced by: Critical Frequency
Hosted by: Amy Westervelt
Tagline: A true-crime podcast about climate change.
Smeaky Review: Award winning investigative journalist Amy Westervelt writes this series as a true-crime podcast, which makes it yummy to listen to, but it’s very informative on who put our planet in this danger, who is making it so difficult to take action and what people around the world are doing and what we can do too to achieve systematic change.
4. The Circular Economy Playbook

Produced by: ReLondon
Hosted by: Ali Moore
Tagline: Revolutionising our relationship with stuff. Join the revolution.
Smeaky Review: As a Londoner, I love getting to know other people who are physically near me, who are modelling living a sustainable life. Several of the episodes focus on small businesses in the area who are making a real impact in my city. The episodes are quite succinct and to the point which I always love. It’s another little bite of encouragement in my week.
